Anthropology of Living World FA25 (ANTH-29908-01)

This course explores the anthropology of animacy across the Americas. Specifically, we examine Indigenous worldviews regarding how the universe and the cosmos are constituted and how our environment is seen as agentive, living, and interactive. We explore ethnographic and archaeological data from across the Americas to understand how Indigenous Americans lived experiences and material records articulate how relations between people and things are mutually constituted.
